The initial focus is on Mozambique, where there is an opportunity to benefit from the country’s substantial GDP growth resulting, in part, from the major discoveries of natural gas – currently estimated at 150trn cubic feet. Mozambique is expected to overtake Qatar to become the world’s largest LNG producer by 2020. The intention is to focus investment in Northern Mozambique and also in Maputo where there is strong demand for office, retail and residential property. African Century Real Estate is managed by a Mozambique based management team with property development expertise from both Europe and Africa. We have secured various land holdings and have commenced the construction of several developments providing high quality residential, office and retail solutions. African Century Real Estate will be funded through a combination of our own resources and co-investment by private and institutional investors. African Century Real Estate is part of the African Century Group, an operating investment company that has developed a portfolio of investments in Sub-Saharan Africa, principally in East and Southern Africa.
